Powerlink has released a transmission corridor for community feedback as part of the grid connection for the Theodore Wind Farm.
It is proposed the 55km-long 275kV transmission line will connect the wind farm to a proposed new substation at Mount Benn, near Banana.
The proposed corridor follows desktop analysis and investigations into route options based on landholder, environmental and constructability inputs completed by the wind farm owners, RWE Renewables Australia.
Powerlink is now building on the work already completed by RWE.
Feedback is encouraged from the community on the proposed corridor with the following information sessions to be held next month:
The final corridor will be selected following additional field studies and feedback from the community, landholders and Traditional Owner groups.
