Powerlink has been engaged by Aula Energy and CS Energy to connect the Boulder Creek Wind Farm, located in Central Queensland, to the electricity grid.
The transmission connection project will involve building a new substation and then undertaking some line works to connect into an existing 275kV transmission line that runs between Stanwell and Calvale.
In November 2024, Aula Energy and CS Energy commenced early works to prepare the wind farm site for construction. Initial construction activities are expected to involve internal track construction and installation of construction compounds.
Powerlink is expecting to commence work on the new substation and required line works in mid-2025 and complete all connection work by late 2026 (weather dependent).
Boulder Creek Wind Farm (Stage 1) is a 228MW wind farm located 40km southwest of Rockhampton and approximately 5km west of Mount Morgan in Central Queensland.
The project is being developed by a joint venture between Aula Energy and CS Energy. For further information about the wind farm project, visit the Boulder Creek Wind Farm website.
