The Transmission Annual Planning Report (TAPR) is a technical document aimed at people who are familiar with the electricity industry.
The Australian Energy Regulator's (AER’s) TAPR Guidelines published in December 2018 set out the required format of Transmission Annual Planning reports, in particular additional data (TAPR templates) which must be publicly available to complement the TAPR document.
The purpose of the TAPR templates is to provide a set of consistent data across the National Electricity Market (NEM) to assist customers and stakeholders to make informed decisions. Please note that the data is not intended to be relied upon explicitly for the evaluation of investment decisions and interested parties are encouraged to contact Powerlink in the first instance.
Data is published in one of three template 'types' as required by the AER. The template type (transmission connection point/line segment/new generator connection) relates to the proposed technical nature of the proposed reinvestment or new generator connections data and should be read in conjunction with Chapter 5 Future Network Development, Chapter 8 Renewable Energy of the TAPR and the Generation Capacity Guide.
